Killtimers at the O2 Academy

By Samuel Gould  //  Reviews  //  No Comments

It was a cold, wintery night outside as I strolled across Birmingham to the O2 Academy 3, ready to watch the Killtimers gig. This is a band that I have had the pleasure of watching on previous occasions, and with the promise of new material for me to hear, I couldn’t hide that I was excited. Despite the Kerrang! relentless tour being held next door, the room was packed and I struggled to make my way through to the door leading backstage. read more

Guitarist leaves Periphery

By James  //  News  //  No Comments

Alex Bois, Periphery’s former guitarist, has parted ways with the band. This has put the band in an unfortunate situation that they will hopefully climb through. After the departure, the band wrote on their official MySpace page, “Alex Bois and Periphery have decided to part ways. This is truly a sad day for Periphery, because Alex has been with us since the beginning, and he is like a brother to us. We’re going to do everything we can to make the most out of this unfortunate situation, and soldier on like we always have in the past when faced with setbacks. In regards to all of our upcoming shows and tours, worry not! We will have special guest artists filling in for Alex, so our touring plans will not be changing whatsoever.”

It was good to hear that no tours or any future events will be effected.

James Hetfield “loves” Ghost

By James  //  News  //  No Comments

Swedish newbies Ghost have certainly earned the favour of James Hetfield, Metallica’s frontman. After their formation in 2008, these Swedish metal rockers have released one demo, a single and their debut album Opus Eponymous.

An interview with SVT caught Hetfield wearing a Ghost t-shirt and he told them “I’m in their fan club”. James went on to say “I had no idea what they looked like until I saw the video. I heard the music first and I thought it was very great – very unique, very melodic and a breath of fresh air for metal. It reminded me a bit of ’70s kind of rock that I liked as well. So yeah, I love the band.” From what I would guess, James would be a role model to Ghost, so this must be something for them to be proud of and could possibly build up a lot of publicity.
